The memories of a medic nin- No one ever said it was easy.

I often wonder what Sakura’s life was like, being a medic nin and all. Did she realize what she was signing up for when she walked into Tsunade’s office? Did she know that she’d be the one tending to her friends while they were dying? Depending on her for their survival? I don’t think she did in the beginning.

She wanted to be stronger, to prove that she could walk alongside her teammates, hold her own weight and help them when she could. So she went to the strongest female role model she could find.
Tsunade.
I honestly don’t think poor little twelve year old Sakura knew what she was getting into, even after Tsunade explained everything. I don’t think she realized that she may become the deciding factor between her comrade’s life and death, that she’d carry the guilt if she failed.
But she bore it silently; she grew stronger and passed everyone’s expectations- going to new heights.
She saved lives; she defended her loved ones and stood up to anything in her path.
All so she could walk beside her teammates.
Who still left her in the dust.
For every step forward she took, they gained leaps. For every new technique she learned, they got 3. She was still left to watch their backs, after everything she did, for herself and them.
But she didn’t mind, she was just happy that she could help them, keep the alive.
I think she still wants to walk beside them though; she may even resent them a little for leaving her behind, after everything she’s done for them.
But her love for her friends outweighs her resentment, forcing it to the back of her mind. She loves her team.
It couldn’t have been easy on her, having to keep them alive, tending to them after a reclass move. I often wonder when it is she realized what she had gotten herself into. Was it the first time she had to heal Naruto? Was it the first time she saved a life? Or lost a patient?
It would have been one of the first things Tsunade taught her after dealing with the losses of her own loved ones.

‘You can’t save everyone, no matter how hard you try.’

I wonder when that lesson finally hit home for Sakura?

When did she realize she may not be able to save her team?
